Role Objectives and Scope
- Generate higher revenue

- Plan a clear strategy for the category itself, that is aligned with revenue goals/targets
- Keep track on pricing strategy to ensure best prices and follow tthe market with the price changes/increases
- Focus on the rebates with the supplier, more products and more categories = more sales2.
- Keep track and ensure availability of all products (95% minimum availability)
- Ensure healthy stock and rotation
- Make sure sufficient stock is in stores
- Identify the Key Value Items, and keep buffer stocks
- Liquidate slow or non-moving items
- Reduce overstock by transferring between branches
- Ensure healthy purchases vs cost of good sold
- Work on getting higher discounts without the need for increasing stocks
- Order less stock more frequently3.
- Avoid markdowns by improving inventory visibility
- List profitable products that create emotional connection with customer
- Increase average order value
- Negotiate for best prices and rebates
- Tactical price increase for selective products
- Optimize vendor relationship
- Control discount and promos in order to not affect the monthly margin
Main responsibilities:
Leadership: team management, tracking progress and performance of supply chain officers and market amp; in-app surveyors
Financial control: collaborate with the commercial leader regarding suppliers payments, and handle reconciliation with the finance team directly
Marketing: design and execute promos within policy; sell in-app product positions, banners, category logos, and other for suppliers
Commercial support amp; reporting: prepare the initial order for new suppliers and new products; provide Category input into business reviews and potential opportunities with cost and efficiency, and implement within authority level; conduct market research and analyze to create a proven plan; build and maintain profitable supplier relationship; conclude category trends and needs; sourcing new suppliers/brands to enhance the category; monitor pricing; execute range review and slow moving items, and conduct exit strategy to replace with a more profitable product on the app; conduct store check on weekly basis; reporting on the below:
- profitability analysis at category level
- stock level and stock value (availability percentage)
- top 25 products
- top 3 categories
- purchases vs cost of goods sold
- suppliers stock and account balance
Requirements
- Excellent command in English and Portuguese
- Previous experience as a Category Leader
- Previous experience in groceries and Retail
- Previous experience in e-commerce
