Job Description

Parallel Employment Group is seeking a Machine Operator for a tool part manufacturing client in Angola, NY.

Rate: $13/HR

shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30a 3:30p.

FUNCTION:

Machine operators will operate the cutting equipment. The machine operator sets up machine and cuts coated woven fiberglass cloth in accordance with the SOP and to all established quality expectations and customer order specifications.

Also, machine operators are a part of a two-person team, operates the Coating Line. Sets up the coating line for production so that line coats woven fiberglass cloth with liquid resin in accordance with the SOP and to all established quality expectations and customer order specifications. Machine operators must meet production standard every day; production standards vary based upon cloth size.

JOB ROTATION:

All team members are required to train in the skill blocks listed. Once an employee is trained and compensated for a skill block, to maintain the pay rate achieved, (s)he will be required to meet the production standard every day and perform the functions of that skill block on a regular basis so that her/his skills remain up to date.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Math Skills - Add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Able to measure and inspect using metric system.
  • Physical requirements: stand all day, frequent lifting to 10 lbs., occasional lifting to 50 lbs., frequent carrying to 10 lbs., occasional carrying to up 50 lbs., frequent bending, occasional pushing/pulling, some reaching over head, constantly handling materials to restock components, and stage product on pins. Lift up to 100 lbs., with mechanical assistance, on an occasional basis.
  • Able to use both hands simultaneously while working at a steady set machine pace.
  • Physical tolerance to exposure to fiberglass
  • Medical clearance to wear air purifying respirator in Coating Area.
  • Operate an electric pallet jack and fork truck.
  • Satisfactory work records.
  • Willingness to work overtime, off-shifts and/or weekends if required to meet production schedule.
